The anti-Killington. A 1938 Irish-themed lodge with actual character, McGrath's Pub downstairs (best Guinness in Vermont), and rooms with hand-carved furniture. You're 10 minutes from skiing, but this is where you come when you care about evenings, not just vertical feet. Rooms are cozy-small, some share bathrooms (check before booking), and the pub gets rowdy on weekends. Absolutely not for families with young kids.
