True ski-in/ski-out at the base of Crap Sogn Gion cable car, gorgeous modern design (concrete, wood, stone done beautifully), excellent spa with outdoor infinity pool. You're in the heart of 'Laax Base' — the purpose-built resort hub with restaurants/bars. The downsides: it's a *big* hotel (150 rooms), so it can feel corporate at busy times. And rooms are expensive for the size (25m² standard). But the ski access and facilities are superb.

The hostel has a nightclub in the basement (literally), half-pipe on the doorstep, and the vibe is 100% park rat. The rooms are basic (hostel-level), it's loud (bass until 2am), and the crowd skews young (18-28). If you're into freestyle and want to party, it's perfect. If you're 45 and want peace, run away.

Family-run hotel in Laax village (the traditional old village, not the resort base). You're 5 mins' walk from the Laax gondola. The hotel is simple but charming — traditional Swiss décor, small spa, good restaurant doing local food. It's quiet and peaceful, away from the Laax Base party scene. The downsides: it's dated (1980s wood paneling), WiFi is slow, and you're separated from the main resort hub (need to walk 10 mins or take a bus). But for half the price of rocksresort, it's solid.

The hotel is quieter and more upscale than rocksresort. The catch: at CHF 450+/night, you're paying premium prices in a resort that's known for freestyle/snowboarding, not luxury. And you're still in Laax Base (the purpose-built hub) — it's modern and functional, not charming. You get quality, but not Alpine character.
