The food is excellent (though not Michelin-starred). The massive catch: you're in Pinzolo, 12km from Madonna. It's a separate ski area (connected by ski bus/gondola, but it's a faff). If you're here primarily for the spa and wellness, it's incredible. If you're here to ski hard, you're in the wrong place.

The best ski hotel in Madonna itself. You're 100m from Fortini gondola, excellent spa, half-board food is genuinely good (Italian hotel standards, not ski resort slop). Design is tasteful modern Alpine. The problems: it's popular so gets very busy — the spa at 5pm is a scrum, and breakfast can be chaotic. Some rooms face the road (Via Cima Tosa) which is noisy. And at these prices, rooms are on the small side (22m² standard). But for location and quality in Madonna, this is the one.

The negatives: it's dated (1980s wood-paneling aesthetic), WiFi is slow, and the spa is tiny (basically a sauna and jacuzzi). Rooms are clean but uninspiring. Half-board food is decent but repetitive (same rotation every week). But for Madonna on a budget, it's one of the better options.

Don't expect comfort, just a clean bed and a good location.
